Why do I claim to be a Drama Magnet?

It's simple.  I seem to attract drama, despite the fact that I hate it and really want nothing to do with it at all.  I suppose that it's truly due to a set of circumstances that I'm, relatively at least, unable to change.  Let's see:

1. I live in what is considered the bad neighborhood of a somewhat small college town.  Low income neighborhoods don't exactly attract the best people.  Don't get me wrong, some of my neighbors are wonderful people, others however...

2.  The apartments I live in are run by Nazis.  Ok, not literally, but it sure feels like it some days.  There's over 70 cameras monitoring the complex, which is at most half a block in area.  They are always watching, always waiting to cause trouble.  I could understand if they were there for our protection, but really they use them only to keep an eye on the residents and threaten to evict them for breaking rules that should never have been instated in the first place.  Have you ever received a letter threatening to kick you out of your home because your 8 year old son shook his bum at some random parent that shouldn't have been yelling at him in the first place?  I have...

3. I have two boys.  Right now, they're 10 and 12, and let me tell you, they're a handful.  Between school, annoying little friends, and trying to get out of every single chore imaginable, they are enough drama all on their own.

4.  I work the night shift at a hotel.  My typical customers are drunk beyond belief, and I have to call the police at least once every other month.  It's entertaining, sure, but sometimes it's a little too much fun.

5.  Both my apartment and the hotel are work at are in the oldest section of town, and are very much haunted.  I may be fairly used to things happening that I can't explain, but that doesn't mean that I don't get scared half to death on occasion.  Heck, I've had coworkers get so scared that they quit, and once found my neighbor waiting for me in the yard because I made the mistake of leaving her in the house alone for just a few minutes...

6.  I have an ex.  Doesn't everyone?  Only mine is psychotic.  He doesn't pop up in my life much anymore, but let's just say that I have a permanent no contact order against him.  He still finds ways to unsettle me though, just for fun.

There's other things that affect me to, but those are the main ones.  You'll probably be hearing about them a lot.  :)
